Modern Life With a Deep Meaning!

Paola Staccioli

Paola Staccioli

florence, italy — ceramist

Paola Staccioli was born in Florence in 1972 and graduated in Humanities in 1999 with a thesis on Dickens. She completed her artistic training in her father Paolo's studio, and from the beginning saw ceramics as her medium of choice. Over the years, constant research and experimentation have allowed Paola Staccioli to perfect the technique of the glaze, and it is in the sparkle of the fire-forged glaze that the work takes shape. Time and again, the artist delights in creating works of story, controlling form and colour with spontaneous and playful harmony, celebrating the wondrous beauty of a family's ordinary universe, a microcosm without skill in which earth, fire, and colour harmonize with the revelation of light. Following the first important exhibition ""Ceramiche Animate"" at the Porcelain Museum in Palazzo Pitti in Florence in 2010, among the most important solo and group exhibitions we can note the participation of Paola Staccioli in important international exhibitions such as Orr Den Bosch Ceramics Festival, Germany (2011 and 2012), Premio Antica Arte dei Vasai Prize, Nobile contrada des Nicchio, Siena, together with her father Paolo Staccioli (2012), solo exhibition at the Benozzo Gozzoli Museum in Castelfiorentino (“ Concreta 2013”) and more.
